Frosted and opal glass are preferred where soft diffusion is needed. Clear glass works well for decorative fixtures where the bulb is part of the visual effect.

Yes. For outdoor lighting projects, sample approval, batch consistency, quality inspection and export packaging should be confirmed before bulk production. Standard MOQ is 500 pcs per SKU — smaller pilot orders of 200 pcs per SKU are available for new projects.

Borosilicate glass (3.3 grade) has a low thermal expansion coefficient — around 3.3 × 10⁻⁶/K versus 9 × 10⁻⁶/K for standard soda-lime glass. In lawn light applications, the shade heats up during operation and cools rapidly when rain hits it. Standard glass is more likely to crack under this thermal shock cycle. Borosilicate is the recommended material for any lawn light glass shade that will face direct rain exposure or rapid temperature changes between seasons.

Three measurements determine compatibility: (1) Fitter opening diameter — the internal neck opening at the bottom of the shade that slides over the fixture’s fitter collar. (2) Overall height — from the fitter rim to the top of the shade. (3) Maximum diameter — the widest point of the shade body. For globe shapes, also note whether the fitter is open-bottom or closed-base. Send these three measurements with a photo of the existing fixture and we can recommend a direct match from our stock range or quote a custom replacement.

Yes. Globe and dome glass shade profiles suitable for standard lawn post lights are also compatible with pathway and bollard housings when the fitter collar diameter matches. A pathway lawn light glass shade typically uses a smaller globe or dome with a 57–76 mm fitter, while a bollard lawn light glass cover often uses a cylinder or half-globe profile with a wider base flange. JX Lampshade can manufacture custom collar dimensions for both fixture types as part of a single project order, keeping all fixture types visually consistent across a landscape installation.

MOQ depends on the production method. Machine-pressed glass profiles typically require 500–1,000 pieces per shape and colour, as tooling costs need to be spread across the run. Hand-blown and mouth-blown custom profiles have a lower MOQ of 100–200 pieces for simple shapes. For standard profiles from our existing mould library, orders from 50 pieces are accepted. Sample development is available before any bulk order commitment — contact us with your fixture spec to confirm the applicable MOQ for your project.

Each shade is individually wrapped in EPE foam with a dedicated fitter collar ring to prevent rim chipping. The wrapped shade is placed in a formed foam shell insert providing a minimum 50 mm clearance on all sides inside a double-wall corrugated inner box. Multiple inner boxes are packed into a master export carton rated to the combined gross weight. For fragile profiles such as large-diameter globes (250 mm+) or thin-wall hand-blown shades, additional foam wall thickness and individual outer boxes are used. All export packaging is designed to pass ISTA 2A drop-test requirements.
